Athiests
Where do we have common ground? Perhaps reality is all that we have. We exist, right? But maybe that’s enough to engage with each other thoughtfully.
The atheist worldview is often a naturalist or materialist worldview. That often means they require everything to be explained and measured by what they can sense or otherwise reason. Indeed, these are valuable skills. But they have a shortcoming when we try to explain where everything came from.
Most will say, “The Big Bang,” right? But what was before that? If your worldview starts with the Big Bang, you must concede that something had to create the material used initially. Scientific boundaries for enclosed systems mandate that you can not create something out of nothing. That leaves the only choice being that there must be a creator.
We choose to believe in an intelligent, self-existent, eternal creator.

Spiritualists
Ah, we love Spiritualists. We do because we have a lot in common. We both believe in a supernatural world with supernatural beings. Whether you are Hindu, Wiccan, or another religion, it means acknowledging a god or gods.
Our differences are in the character and definition of who we consider God. We will explore more about what the Bible says about God in other posts, which is the foundation of our beliefs. Where appropriate, we’ll contrast it with different spiritual beliefs. The Bible has a lot to say about that.

Christians
We’ve heard it said that the Christian Army is the only one that shoots their wounded (and sometimes their allies!) We have no intention of shooting down others, but we seek to find common ground on the written word of God.
Too often, we hear things that people think are in the Bible and others that people make up because they think they should be in it. We’ll focus on what we find there and thoughtfully discuss it.
